Location: Washington, DC

Daily Driver: 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, grey with a black soft top. Name is Gazelle

Time Spent Driving/day: I average only 30-40 minutes per day, but I’ll often take drives just for fun.

Road Most Traveled: My commute is any of the arteries north to south, but I love some of the less traveled roads in Rock Creek Park. If I’m going out of town, I look for two-lane country roads. I drive across the country each year and I always try get off the interstate as much as possible if I have the time.

Driving Style in One Word: MaximumHighRevsTurboBoostFunTime

In-Car Must-Haves: Cup holders and a good stereo. I’m a diet soda addict and must have one when driving. But I’m not really one for infotainment systems and the like. I don’t have Bluetooth or navigation or anything like that. I just don’t feel like it’s necessary. My 2001 Miata had cruise control, which was nice. The Mazdaspeed doesn’t have it, so I may have something installed before I take off for California in the summer.

Driving Tunes: I have terrible taste in music. When driving for fun I like old school rap, pop dance tunes, or classic rock. My all-time favorite driving riff is the opening guitar solo from Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. If I’m just commuting I like podcasts – Stuff You Should Know is a lot of fun, and of course, Car Talk.

Time-saving technique: Why shorten the drive time? I drive a freaking Mazdaspeed Miata!!!

Hanging from rear view: Nothing. What kind of a heathen do you think I am?
