Nissan ‘Pop-up’ ad for LEAF

I was getting ready to leave the house for work today, when I heard a commercial on TV that kept making this bubble sound and stating facts. I paid a little closer attention and noticed it was Nissan’s latest consumer ad for the all-electric LEAF.

The bubbles pop up with a aquatic sound reminiscent of VH1’s ‘Pop Up Video’ of the 1990s. Coincidentally, those of us old enough to be nostalgic over this noise are likely the buyer that Nissan is targeting.

It’s telling that my ears paid attention before my eyes did. I thought, wait, this can’t be a commercial for VH1. But it was close enough (sound wise) to make me feel good about the product they were presenting. Smart move, Nissan.

And just to please those of you who loved VH1’s trivia-filled videos, I’ve posted one for you here. Enjoy!
